Information Technology

I have worked with information technology throughout my entire career with formal education and experience in programming, databases, server administration and more.

For three years, I worked for a distributor of IBM computer systems, peripherals and services.  Here is a summary of my work and accomplishments there:

  • Responsible for full life cycle development using Lotus Notes and Domino for this 3 billion dollar IBM Business Partner
  • Designed, developed, maintained, and supported customized Lotus Notes/Domino based solutions including: Prospect Tracking/Sales Management Application, Intranet Customer Tracking database, and Intranet Vendor Value Added Enhancement Tracker
  • Responsibilities included: Consulting with executives, management, and other end users to identify needs and priorities, developing reporting processes using Lotus Notes and Lotus Approach, providing extensive end user training for all tools, interpreting and balancing database requirements for multiple departments as well as assisting with administration and security
    Achieved Lotus CLP Application Developer Certification, which the company used to obtain Value Added Enhancements

At BellSouth/AT&T, I worked as a Senior Programmer / Project Manager.  Here is a summary of my work and accomplishments there:

  • Responsible for development of 3-tiered java applications for the intranet for this Fortune 100 Company. (J2EE Architecture, Web Logic Web Server, Oracle Databases)
  • Served as a team leader on migration project from Lotus Notes to Exchange Email Platforms. Worked on code to migrate individual email accounts, coordinated resources, created a tracking database to manage the entire migration project
  • Responsible for integrating work-flow applications with back-end relational databases via daily Sentinel feeds
  • Responsible for communicating ideas and organizing projects through extensive preparation and documentation
  • Full cycle development for applications to track/manage: Business Financial Review, Credit Application/Approval Process, Customer Trouble Issues, Technician Call Out Schedule, I/T Help Calls, Centralized Help Documentation for all Company Applications, Project/Schedule Tracking for Group Management, over 15 databases for Departmental Document Sharing & Collaboration, Company-Wide PC Inventory, Y2K Upgrade Process
  • Used HTML, Java Script, and Cascading Style Sheets to web enable sales related lotus notes applications to the Domino based intranet. Followed BellSouth guidelines for user interface consistency
  • Served as I/T liaison for company integration project to convert multiple Sales Force Automation Applications to a common Siebel Systems platform. Performed advocate duties for Sales & I/T to ensure the design of Siebel included functionality of previous SFA System.  Participated in project meetings and engaged appropriate resources to identify and resolve conversion issues.  Prepared documentation to facilitate project issues and communicate project status.  Worked directly with the data team to define conversion requirements.  Prepared all data feeds for conversion
    Awards Received:   Presidents Circle Award for 2000, Catalyst Award – May, 2001, Department Head Award – July, 2001
    Achieved Lotus CLP Principal R4/R5 Application Developer Certification

After BellSouth/AT&T, I took some time for my family; however, I stayed current on my technical skills by working on freelance consulting projects.  Here is a summary of my work and accomplishments in this time:

  • Managed all phases of SDLC for 20+ technical projects including: website/ecommerce new development, existing web application integration, and platform and host migration projects for industries including: construction, real estate, healthcare, church and other non-profit
  • Experience in building and managing global teams
  • Proven endurance in problem solving, commitment to quality (meeting requirements) and customer satisfaction
  • Proven effective time and task management with high productivity while working remotely
